In May I finally finished watching Skins, the British series I had started in September of 2015. In just a few episodes, the series won me and because of this, the worth watching of today is Skins!

The series has three generations in total, each one having two season. At the end of each generation, all the main characters are swapped. Each generation has an average of eight teenage protagonists that we will follow during their last two years of college.

Skins is distributed as being about rebellious teenagers, drugs and sex, and to tell the truth, it is basically. The series will show teenagers from dysfunctional families dealing with issues such as religion, sexuality, disease and death, among others.

Skins has some really good actors and a well-written script, having good stories and character development. Because of this, the series was very well received by critics, especially its first two seasons, and received many compliments.

The series shows the reality (quite exaggerated) of some British teenagers dealing with difficult questions in life. During the 7 seasons, subjects that are taboos are portrayed in a very open and direct way.

The first generation was great, with excelentes performances and incredible characters. The second one was also good, but not as good as the first one. The third has a much lighter tone, innocent plots and characters who suffered big mischaracterization, not pleasing most part of the audience and me.

Skins is not a series of happy endings and does not alleviates heavy subjects to talk about them, becoming something more real. It is that series that makes you laugh, cry, smile, worry and feel empathy for the characters. Skins speaks very openly about drugs and sex in youth and because of that, there are many scenes that show such things, so if you do not like this kind of subject or if you are very young, I would not recommend the series for you.

Skins takes 4 stars.

The series was created by Bryan Elsley e Jamie Brittain and was on air from 2007 to 2013, having 7 seasons.
