After a few weeks of blog change, I finally bring the first film of the week here and it is The Martian.
In this film a team from NASA is on a mission on Mars when a storm happens and the astronaut Mark Watney (Matt Damon) is left behind by the rest of the crew who thinks he is dead.
It turns out that Watney survives and finds himself alone on an unknown planet and with scarce supplies, while on Earth, NASA has the difficult task of developing a rescue and rescue him before he runs out of supplies.
- Why you should watch: Matt Damon is super charismatic and holds big part of the film alone. The special effects and photography are very good. In addition, the soundtrack composed of several iconic musics is great. The film has some fun scenes and even won the Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, and was nominated for the Oscar for Best Picture.
- What I thought: It is a good film that keeps your attention from start to the end and the cinematography and soundtrack got me, I just think they could have given a little more depth to Wetney. Also I do not think that the film fits in the comedy category, but if critics think, who am I to argue?
The Martian takes 4 stars.
The film was directed by Ridley Scott and was released in 2015.
