As I explained today on this post, I’ve decided to reformulate the blog and every Tuesday the post will be about a series or book. Of course, I couldn’t not start with one of my favourite series ever: How I Met Your Mother.
In the year 2030, the architect Ted Mosby (Josh Radnor) decides to tell his children how he met their mother. But to get there, Ted will tell them his friends and his adventures. During the nine seasons, we follow the trajectory of five friends with different personalities.
The characters are amazing and real. Ted and his relentless search for love. The hilarious, eccentric and womaniser Barney (Neil Patrick Harries). Robin (Cobie Smulders) and her battle between love and work. And the beautiful love between Marshall (Jason Segal) and Lily (Alyson Hannigan).
Everyone has a great development throughout the series and they’re characters that you can relate. I for example, I see myself very much on Ted and I think it’s very good when you can relate to some character. The series is super funny. At times of more controversial subjects, as drugs for example, Ted change the controversial subjects by some random words.
Although there are only a few moments of drama, when they exist, they’re great. And although it had a controversial end that divides opinions until now, the series had a real end. It shows that not all endings are happy, not all couples stay together forever and sometimes unpleasant things will happen.
And that’s why How I Met Your Mother is one of my favourite series of all times.
