The Supergirl pilot “leaked” back in May, but it had its official premiere last week. It’s another adaptation of super hero comics to the TV, but this time with the cousin of Superman.
With the destruction of the planet Krypton, Kara Zor-El, know Kara Danvers, is sent to earth to take care of her cousin, Superman. However, Kara spends 24 years lost in space before finally reaching Earth. After discovering that her cousin no longer needs her help, Kara spends years having a normal life and not using her powers. Until one day, an event forces her to reuse them.
The pilot had 45 minutes, but so much happened, so much was presented that ended up being a little bit too fast, but still exciting and fun.
Melissa Benoist is very well as the heroine, showing a charismatic character that pleased me in the first episode. Differently from her character Marley on Glee, who even in two seasons failed to please me.
I hope the series find its rhythm and present a more developed and not so fast episodes.
Supergirl was created by Ali Adler, Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg on CBS.
